LIANZA and the National Library of New Zealand are thrilled to announce Lorcan Dempsey, Vice President of OCLC Research and Chief Strategist, as a keynote speaker for the 2013 LIANZA Conference in Hamilton, New Zealand in October.
Dempsey joined OCLC (Online Computer Library Center) in 2001, overseeing OCLC Research and was appointed Chief Strategist for the organisation in 2004. After beginning his career in public libraries in his native Ireland, Dempsey moved on to direct UKOLN, a national U.K. research and policy unit at the University of Bath and later headed up national information services in the UK with JISC.
Conference Convenor Vye Perrone believes a keynote as well known as Lorcan Dempsey will have wide appeal for delegates at LIANZA Conference 2013. “Lorcan’s interest in library trends and futures and the architecture of digital information environments makes him a real draw card at our event”.
LIANZA Conference 2013: Wai-ora, Wai-Maori, Waikato will be held at the Claudelands Event Centre, Hamilton, New Zealand from October 20 to 23, 2013. For further information visit the LIANZA Conference website:
