U.S. librarians are encouraged to participate in Banned Websites Awareness Day, September 25 On Wednesday, September 25, AASL (American Association of School Librarians) asks school librarians and other educators to promote an awareness of how overly restrictive filtering affects student learning. Banned Websites Awareness Day raises awareness of the overly restrictive blocking of legitimate, educational websites and academically useful social networking tools in schools and school libraries.
