During the 27th meeting of the Standing Committee on Copyright & Related Rights (SCCR), IFLA will be hosting a side event considering ways in which libraries and archives are increasingly operating in a global digital environment.

Information Without Borders: libraries and archives in a global information ecosystem

A light sandwich lunch will be provided.

Today libraries and archives are engaging with communities that are global in nature. This session will discuss ways in which libraries and archives are collaborating across borders on research and innovation activities, digitization initiatives and preservation projects, and the copyright and licensing challenges they face.

Speakers will include: Dr. Paul Ayris, President of Association of European Research Libraries (LIBER); Professor Ronan Deazley, University of Glasgow and Scottish Council on Archives (SCA); Trish Hepworth, Copyright law and policy adviser for the Australian Libraries Copyright Committee; Barbara Szczepańska, Poznan Foundation of Scientific Libraries; and Dr. Manon Ress, Director of Information Society Projects, Knowledge Ecology International.
