An American Federal Program which promotes access to government information. This is the target of one of the presentations that will be covered in session 193 of the upcoming IFLA World Library and Information Congress.

On 18 April 2012, Argentina celebrated its 6th Conference on Government Libraries, under the theme: “Cooperation in libraries: an added value”. The conference was organized by the Certified Librarians’ Association (ABGRA), the Public Administration National Institute (INAP), the Foreign Service Institute (ISEN), and the Information and Documentation Center of the Ministry of Economy (CDI-MECON). Appealing speakers and panelists were invited to participate, drawing a vast and engaged audience.
El 18 de abril de 2012 se celebró en Argentina la 6ª Jornada de Bibliotecas Gubernamentales, con el lema “La cooperación bibliotecaria: un valor agregado”. Organizada por la Asociación de Bibliotecarios Graduados (ABGRA), el Instituto Nacional de la Administración Pública (INAP), el Instituto del Servicio Exterior de la Nación (ISEN) y el Centro de Documentación e Información del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas Públicas (CDI-MECON), la jornada contó con la presencia de atrayentes expositores y panelistas, y numerosos asistentes.
Miguel Navas, Presidente de la Sección de Bibliotecas Gubernamentales, ha publicado “Mejores prácticas de las bibliotecas gubernamentales de los EEUU”, una breve reseña sobre el último anuario estadounidense “Best Practices for Government Libraries”, editado por Marie Kaddell.
