Preparing a presence for GLS in Helsinki 2012

The Government Libraries Section (GLS) must prepare this month its corresponding session program for next IFLA annual conference in Helsinki (2012). For that, we would like to open the discussion and hear our audience’s opinion.

Indeed, some questions arise promptly: is it still important to have a regular session with 4 or 5 presentations of papers that will be published online as before? Or, is it more convenient to change the session-style onto a round-table debate? Would you rather prefer recognized experts’ opinion, or practice examples from other librarians? Any other possibilities?

Concerning the topic, we should focus on the main general IFLA theme for next conference: “Inspiring, Surprising, Empowering”. In this sense, from the government libraries’ point of view, what topic would you like to hear about?
