Australian Reading House Bridges a Cultural Divide

The Australian Reading Hour, in which Australians of all ages are encouraged to drop everything and read a book for a specified hour each year, was last week. This year’s event held special significance for the indigenous Binjari community because libraries participating in the program featured a children’s book — “Moli Det Bigibigi,” about a pig named Molly — written in their native Kriol language as well as English.
