June 10th-12th, The Mazarine Library, the oldest public library in France, will hold an international symposium discussing its plans for beginning a digital collection, touring and lending its materials to other institutions, and even host a session concerning the communication and information systems used in 1648 and 1649, soon after the library opened. It is sure to be a fascinating event regarding both the history and the future of this remarkable institution.

Le 10 au 12 juin, la Bibliothèque Mazarine, la bibliothèque municipale la plus vieille en France, tiendra un colloque international discutant ses plans pour commencer une collection numérique, visitant et prêtant ses matériels à d’autres institutions et en plus, accueillera une session concernant la communication et les systèmes d’information utilisés en 1648 et 1649, peu après l’ouverture de la bibliothèque. Il est sûr d’être un événement fascinant autant à l’histoire qu’ en l’avenir de cette institution remarquable.

There is also a workshop discussing the concept of the “continuous scroll”. Originally used to record ancient works and information, it has been reincarnated in a way through the introduction of mobile devices that scroll endlessly. This workshop, taking place at The Courtauld Institute of Art in London on June 23, 2015, will discuss the influences of the ancient works on our interactions with information today.

Il y a aussi un atelier pour discuter du concept de “rouleau continu”. À l’origine utilisé pour enregistrer des travaux et des informations antiques, il a été réincarné dans une façon par l’introduction de dispositifs mobiles qui défilent infiniment. Cet atelier, ayant lieu au Courtauld Institute of Art le 23 juin 2015, discutera les influences des œuvres antiques sur nos interactions avec des informations d’aujourd’hui.

Finally, for those who missed the conference in Munich regarding “The Beautiful Book as an Event: 30 years of ‘Die Andere Bibliothek'”, do not fret; the works will be on exhibit from May 26th, 2015, until October 9th, 2015 in the university library of LMU in Munich. “Die Andere Bibliothek” is a hardcover book series founded in 1985 in which a new book is published monthly and instantly cherished by worldwide followers.

Finalement, pour ceux qui ont manqué la conférence à Munich, “The Beautiful Book as an Event : 30 years of ‘Die Andere Bibliothek ‘”, ne vous inquiétez pas, ces oeuvres seront à l’exposition du 26 mai 2015 au 9 octobre 2015 à la bibliothèque universitaire de LMU de Munich. “Die Andere Bibliothek”, fondée en 1985, est une série de livres cartonnés dont un nouveau livre publié mensuellement, immédiatement chéri par des collecteurs mondiaux.
