SpeakUP!

IFLA’s Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE) has launched a new blog to encourage awareness, debate and discussion of these vital topics.

As an Advisory Committee, FAIFE monitors the state of intellectual freedom and responds to violations of free access to information and freedom of expression worldwide on behalf of IFLA.  It is also keen to widen and expand communication with the profession and everyone interested in the subject. Alongside Twitter and Facebook, a blog seemed a natural space to encourage an ongoing debate and exchange on questions which are relevant to everyone involved in library and information work.

Comments, ideas and contributions are welcome from anyone with an interest in FAIFE issues. The blog is a work in progress, and we welcome your suggestions and ideas for improvement so that we can develop it over the coming months.

If you have thoughts about how to use SpeakUP! or wish to discuss other ideas, please contact the FAIFE Committee Chair (Martyn Wade), FAIFE Media Officer (Louise Cooke) or IFLA Headquarters (Esmeralda Moscatelli).
